Korean Skincare for Acne-Prone Skin: A Simple Routine for Cyprus
If your skin is acne-prone, the temptation is usually to throw everything at it: strong cleansers, acids, drying treatments and anything labelled “anti-acne.”
In reality, acne-prone skin often does better with a simple, consistent routine.
The goal is not to dry your skin out. It is to keep pores clear, control excess oil without damaging the skin barrier, calm irritation and protect the skin from the Cyprus sun. Dermatologists also recommend gentle cleansing, moisturising even when skin is oily, and daily sunscreen for acne-prone skin.
Here are some Korean skincare products available at ORÈA Skincare & Beauty Boutique in Cyprus that I would look at when building a routine for acne-prone skin.
1. NINE LESS A-Control Heartleaf & BHA Foam Cleanser
A good acne routine starts with cleansing — but that does not mean scrubbing your face until it feels completely dry.
NINE LESS A-Control Heartleaf & BHA Foam Cleanser is made specifically with blemish-prone skin in mind. It combines Heartleaf with BHA to help cleanse excess oil and pores while keeping the routine relatively simple. ORÈA currently carries it as part of its Korean cleanser collection for acne-prone skin.
Good for: oily, combination and congested skin.
If your skin is very sensitive, start slowly and see how your skin responds rather than adding several exfoliating products at once.
2. Anua Azelaic Acid 10% Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum
This is one of my favourite types of ingredients for someone dealing with breakouts, redness and the marks left behind after spots.
Anua Azelaic Acid 10% Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum combines 10% azelaic acid with hyaluronic acid. It is designed for redness-prone and acne-prone skin while also providing hydration.
Azelaic acid is also used in acne treatment because it can help with clogged pores, inflammation and post-acne dark marks. (nhs.uk)
Good for: acne, redness, uneven skin tone and post-acne marks.
You do not need to combine it immediately with every other acid in your bathroom. Introduce one active product at a time.
3. Celimax The Real Cica Soothing Cream
Acne-prone skin still needs moisturiser.
Celimax The Real Cica Soothing Cream is one of the best choices in the Korean Skincare market that you find in Cyprus.
In fact, constantly drying the skin can leave it irritated and uncomfortable, particularly when you are already using ingredients such as acids. Dermatologists specifically recommend moisturising acne-prone skin when treatments are causing dryness.
Celimax The Real Cica Soothing Cream is a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser with 73% Centella Asiatica, niacinamide and ceramides. It is suitable specifically for sensitive, irritated and acne-prone skin.
Good for: irritated breakouts, redness and skin that feels stressed from active products.
4. Torriden DIVE-IN Watery Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++
If you live in Cyprus, sunscreen should not be the optional part of your acne routine.
Sun exposure can make post-acne marks more noticeable, and some acne treatments can also make skin more sensitive. Dermatologists recommend broad-spectrum SPF30 or higher and advise acne-prone skin to look for sunscreen that will not clog pores.
Torriden DIVE-IN Watery Moisture Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ has a lightweight, watery texture and is suitable for oily, combination and sensitive skin. It is designed to sit comfortably in warm climates without a heavy or greasy finish.
Good for: everyday SPF in the Cyprus climate, especially if you dislike heavy sunscreens.
What would a simple acne-prone routine look like?
You really do not need ten products.
Morning:
Gentle cleanse → moisturizer → SPF50+
Evening:
Cleanser → Anua Azelaic Acid Serum → Celimax Cica Cream
If your skin is very oily or congested, we can adjust the routine. If it is acne-prone and sensitive or dehydrated, the routine may look completely different.
That is why I do not believe in recommending exactly the same “acne routine” to everyone.

A final note: skincare can help with mild breakouts and support acne-prone skin, but persistent, painful, cystic or scarring acne should be assessed by a dermatologist rather than treated only with cosmetics.
